Pouilly-Fuissé | Clos Gaillard

The wine: A rare vintage from a little-known climate, this wine offers exciting aromas ranging from smoky minerality to delicate floral notes. It is a full-bodied, harmonious wine with a chalky finish. Fascinating.

The Terroir: A confidential 11.4-acre plot located in the commune of Fuissé. Year of planting: 1971.

Dark brown soils derived from fine, solid and hard white-beige limestone, sometimes chalky (Jurassic). The terroir is thin and very stony.

Vinification: Whole bunch pressing, cold static settling. Long ageing for 23 months, 30% of which is for 10 months in French oak barrels with a very fine grain, and the rest in Wine Globe. Bottled according to the lunar calendar. No filtration.
